Houston sends 2B Tony Kemp to Oakland
Oakland sends MILB 22/Kyle Holder to Houston
Confirmed: I wanted to clear a roster spot to call up Philip Evans and Kemp was my fourth active 2nd baseman.
I feel like In this league the getting the most AB’s you can is a huge advantage. So even though. Kemp is off to a slow start the fact that he gets semi-regular ABs makes him valuable. He should qualify at Oaf soon so that also adds value. So I believe Oakland is getting someone that can help right away.
My rationale is that my roster sits at 38 and I’m trying not to get into a situation where I have to expose players to waivers. I like Kemp and think his stays will improve but I like Evans better. Until Hayes comes back for the pirates he should get regular AB’s. This will allow me to move Evans to 3rd and play Biggio in the OF or 2B in some line ups. I also shave 400k in salary and get a once highly regarded prospect in Holder. He’s a long shot to be anything more then an extra infielder but those guys have value in this league. Kid does have talent so maybe I he bat comes around late. Crazier things have happened.

Houston put it perfect. I only had one guy with current 2B eligibility and and hoping kemp starts playing better but gives me a guy to fill in at 2B more often. Took Holder hoping he’d make a team as a utility and when he didn’t make it I feel Kemp serves the same purpose.
