I still have faith in Lamet in Bailey but Lamet won't be around to help my team when I'm ready to compete

This is a risky deal for the Rangers, but given Lamet is signed thru 2026, it mitigates some risk. The loss of specs may hurt but the club is still solid as they have an arsenal of arms and some bats that will still be coming through to help. The picks here are literal dart throws as they are late, but the picks could also help, so we will gladly see what they amount to. The main factor driving the deal is the chance the Padres deal Lamet to a team where he can start accumulate better stats. Even if the Padres keep him around, he will be an electric spot starter and arm out of the pen. It was a doozy working the particulars out as we drew near the end of the deal, but both teams are satisfied with their returns. Nice dealing Pads!
