This is a pitcher swap where the Rangers are using Abel to gain to high upside SPs in Kelley/Montgomery. The upside offered by Montgomery is especially intriguing. Add in the addition of Pomares, and the Rangers have another nice power bat that could see the Majors before too long. Sometimes to get better you have to let go of an asset and take 2 two make the team stronger and deeper. That's what the Rangers did here and are pleased with the return.
