The Rangers feel this is an interesting deals as they bolster their lineup with a top 3B in Machado while taking a gamble on Cortes, who showed promise as a Yankee last season. Pena is an interesting prospect who needs to refine his approach at the plate and become more consistent, but has the chance to carve out a role in the Majors due to being dually eligible at 3B/SS. There is tenurial for him to be a regular in the lineup the Rangers feel. Castillo was hard to give up, but it could be for the better as we have nice pitching prospects in out minors system, but lacked minor league bats.
